Medical Sciences promote the prevention and treatment of the disease, but also the maintenance and well-being of human health. Recognizing that good health and occupational literacy of citizens contributes significantly to the economic development of any country, it is the responsibility of universities to provide high-quality, scientific and humanistic education and to provide fundamental support for the development of new technologies and clinical approaches that present, enable and monitor solutions. It is also the function of university institutes to alert health regulators to the need to implement these solutions always in a humane and inclusive way. In this volume of the International Journal in Portuguese Language (RILP) dedicated to Medical and Life Sciences, eleven academic groups from different geographic backgrounds were gathered: Brazil (Fluminense Federal University, Federal University of Mato Grosso, Federal University of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte , East Timor (Timor Lorosa'e National University) and Portugal (University Institutes and Clinics of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra).
